Other than “above” there’s glove, shove, dove, and using “of” creatively. www.rhymezone.com The songwriter can cheat a little and use quasi rhymes like love/enough, love/tough but the rhymes for “love” are a bit limited.

In a recent song I wrote, the 2nd verse has a couple lines that go:
“This gift of salvation from Heaven above
for all who receive and believe in His love”
Recording at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uBGqOj-n7io

It could have been written:
This gift of salvation from the Father of all,
love come to heal and break down dark walls

But, that doesn’t quite flow as well with the rest of the song.

Not exactly, “love from above” but this is close. ;-)
1 Kings 8:23
“LORD, the God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven above or on earth below—you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way."

Point well taken though. God is here and His love is present and far beyond what we can conceive of. Many times, song writers use “praise phrases” and don’t challenge themselves to break out of the stock lyrics.

“Heaven on the 97th floor on the third star from the left? Where is this love shining down from?” This sounds like a fun concept to develop for a song sometime. :)Andrew Allenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13164957604404279218noreply@blogger.com
